Wanna Know How I Got These Scars?

‘The Joker’ has recently become one of my favourite villains of all time. I recently read ‘The Killing Joke’ and saw some awesome art on it. So as an ode to the Joker, I decided to re-do two of the images on the comic.

Both of these took me AGES to finish so you bastards better like it! 😀 Both were originally illustrated by Brian Bolland.

“My father was a drinker and a fiend. And one night, he goes off crazier than usual. Mommy gets the kitchen knife to defend herself. He doesn’t like that. Not. One. Bit. So, me watching, he takes the knife to her laughing while he does it. He turns to me and he says, “why so serious”. He comes at me with the knife, “why so serious!?” Sticks the blade in my mouth, “let’s put a smile on that face”. And… why so serious.”

My favourite ‘scars’ story.

DAY 1 and 2: Start Of A Daily Practice Regime

I’m writing this post in day 2 as yesterday I was mentally exhausted from finishing this piece. Why am I doing a daily cartoonizing “effect”? Because I want to get better at it.

Before day 1 I’ve done a few images.. basically traced out from other images; hence the word ‘practice’. In the sense of being a “failed artist”, I want to get back into my old stride and enjoy what I feel I’m born to do without the dread of feeling shit about myself when I hear of people’s achievements in their respective art colleges.

But first before I get back to the basics, I want to get better at the digital aspect of this designing as it will play a key part of my aim.

Photoshop, pen tool and youtube has never been beneficial! Here are some of the pieces I’ve worked on before day 1..

And this is my day 1 piece..

And this is my Day 2 piece…

“so back to the back to the basics. white t-shirt and some motherfuckin’ asics”
